Hint Following are the most common abbreviations used by the ALEPH command language. For a complete list, see Search in the Help.

WRD - Words
WTI - Words in title field
WAU - Words in author / creator field
WPU - Words in publisher field
WSU - Words in subject field
WYR - Year of publication
WPR - Words in seller / subject
WDS - Date of sale (yyyymmdd)
WPS - Place of sale
WNO - Notes

Hint Lowercase letters will find matches of capitalized words also. For example, computer will find matches for computer, Computer and COMPUTER.

Hint Lower-case letters will find matches of capitalized words also. For example, italy will find matches for italy, Italy and ITALY.

Hint You may use the Boolean operators AND, OR and NOT in your search string. For example, you could type painting or sculpture to retrieve all records having painting or sculpture in them.

Hint Use the ? wildcard character to find matches that contain portions of words. For example, rom? will retrieve Roma, Romani, romantic, romantici, etc. In another example, ?ologia will retrieve antologia, archeologia, astrologia, filologia, etc. The ? character may also be used to find variant spellings. For example, catalo?s will find both the American spelling, catalogs, and the British spelling, catalogues.

Hint Special note for searching by Date of sale. Type the date of sale in this format: yyyymmdd.
